Limpopo International Film Festival 7th Edition: Celebrating African Cinema Across Communities

The 7th edition of the Limpopo International Film Festival brought together a vibrant celebration of storytelling, creativity, and cultural pride across the province. Rooted in the spirit of community engagement and cinematic appreciation, this edition expanded its reach to multiple venues, allowing more people to experience the transformative power of film.

The festival began on 8 November 2023 at Mookgopong Hall, followed by a special community screening on 9 November at Zai Oat Hall, where local audiences connected with diverse cinematic voices in an intimate setting. These sessions served as a platform for dialogue, reflection, and cultural exchange, reinforcing the festival’s mission to bring film to the people.

The journey culminated on 6–7 December 2023 at Masingita Mall’s Nu-Metro Cinema, where audiences gathered for a series of film screenings and masterclasses designed to inspire both established and aspiring filmmakers. Industry professionals and guests shared knowledge, experience, and techniques, nurturing the next generation of storytellers in Limpopo and beyond.
